Privacy Policy

At Life Directions we take your privacy very seriously. We follow the Code of Ethics as laid down by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and the Code of Conduct for Executive Coaches as described by Ashridge Management College.

Executive Coaching, and Professional and Personal development through group-work and workshops, are all specific and confidential forms of help. The information we hold (with your written consent) includes:

  • • Referral forms containing contact details

  • • Notes on our work together – all coaching clients will, as a matter of course, have a copy of these

To ensure best practice, this information will be held safely during our work together, and for a maximum of six years after the work is completed. At the end of this time it will be securely and confidentially destroyed.

There are some circumstances under which we might share your information – wherever possible this would be following discussion, and with your consent. These circumstances are:

  • • Where there is immediate risk of harm to you or to others

  • • As a legal requirement – e.g. terrorism or drug money laundering

  • • Where we have agreed that for example your GP or other professional should be informed

Under the Code of Ethics there is a requirement that all Executive Coaches and Management Development Consultants undergo supervision of their work. The supervisor may be external to Life Directions and may take their own notes. During supervision discussions, client and organisational identity is always anonymised.

We will not contact you with details of other services we provide unless specifically requested.

For further information on how we maintain the security of your information, and your rights regarding access to the information we hold on you, please contact Dr. Joanna Bisdee.
